why a deck instead of a feed?

Infinite feeds are designed to be bottomless: there is always one more headline, and the ones that surface are the ones that provoke. A finite deck flips the incentive: mono selects a handful of articles for you each day, weighted to the topics you've chosen, and then it stops. No infinite scroll, no autoplay, no rage bait, and a clear moment where you can close the app finished, not defeated.
